1906, Marshall B. Lloyd opened the doors of the Lloyd Manufacturing
Company in Menominee, Michigan, and specialized in making
fine wicker baby bugies and children's furniture. Through
perseverance to improve the quality of wicker production,
Lloyd was rewarded in 1917 with a patent for the
Lloyd Loom. This revolutionary process raised
the standards of the wicker industry and remains unparalleled
even to this day.
