In
1906, Marshall B. Lloyd opened the doors of the Lloyd Manufacturing Company
in Menominee, Michigan, and specialized in making fine wicker baby bugies
and children's furniture. Through his perseverance to improve the quality of
wicker production, Lloyd was finally rewarded in 19917 with a patent for the
Lloyd Loom. This revolutionary wicker weaving process raised the standards
of the wicker industry and remains unparalleled even to this day.
